Belleville - Django Reinhardt (1940)
I love writing, video games, zombies, superheroes, Japanese culture, physics, food, movies, down-tempo electronic music, off-the-wall questions, tattoos and lots of other stuff.
I'm also no fun at parties.
Belleville - Django Reinhardt (1940)
I’ve been working on my dream recall (ability to remember dreams) for a few months now, and I have gotten to the point where I can remember almost entire dreams upon waking and commit them to long-term memory fairly easily.
Tonight, I was attempting the standard MILD (Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams i.e. repeating to yourself that you’ll have a lucid dream) method to hopefully attain my first controlled lucid dream; as per some advice given to me previously, I laid completely still in my bed, mulled over my previous dreams, and reassured myself over and over again that I would dream tonight and be able to realize it. During the first hour and a half, my body began to stiffen/relax, and it felt as though there was a heavy weight bearing down on my torso (I wasn’t sure what to make of this at first, because I thought it was hunger). Suddenly, I realized that my eyes were open; I had no awareness of when or how my eyes opened, and I felt exactly the same as I did a few moments ago when I knew my eyes were closed. However, after lying still for a few minutes, I sat up, stretched, did a quick reality check, and came to the conclusion that I was not dreaming, so I laid back down to try again.
It was exactly the same up until the end: after realizing my eyes were open, I expected to again be awake, but when I turned my head towards the side of my bed, I quickly realized that I was dreaming. Standing next to me was a large, humanoid shape. There were no distinguishable features other than it’s size. After seeing this, two pale, floating heads appeared on either side of the shape, opened their mouths in silence, flew towards me, and I promptly woke the fuck up. I believe this was some form of a lucid dream, but I’m really not sure at this point.
In all honesty, I can’t even say that I’m 100% sure as to whether or not I’m awake right now, and that’s a little discomforting. Not even kidding. ಠ_ಠ
